Day 30
We are now on our second leg of our tour of India and the next destination is the highly acclaimed, “Source at Sula” in the finest wine region of India, Nasik.
Drive from Ahmedabad to Sula Vineyards is about 500 kms and 10 hours. We started at 5.30 am and took National Expressway (NE1) to Vadodara, which is about 95 kms from Ahmedabad. The drive is smooth and fast. Once we exited NE1, we take NH48 and then should have taken NH360, but then we got on to GJ SH 181 instead and then NH848, towards Nasik. Though we had to travel few extra kms, the route we took was beautiful! We enjoyed every bit of the scenic drive towards NH848 (sadly we could not make out the village names as it was in Gujarati).
We decided to have lunch before check in. Shawarma lunch in car was just nice!
We checked in at Source at Sula resort at around 3.30 pm. The resort has great ambience, nice rooms, pool, jacuzzi, gym and spa. (but a bit too pricey, if we may say so!)
Today we completed two milestones - one month and 10,000/- kms on the road! The journey has taken us through 15 states, 2 Union Territories and 10,000/- kms!
We are hungry for more and look forward to the Sula winery tour tomorrow.
