Day 13 - Jim Corbett National Park (first day)

12.10.2022

Day 13

Today we travelled further North - destination Jim Corbett National park in Uttarakhand state. The park is rich in flora and fauna and known for Bengal tigers.

We started at around 8.30 am and took the Lucknow - Hardoi - Shahjahanpur road and passing through NH30/NH730C/NH530 - distance to cover approx 400 kms and estimated travel time 8.5 hours.

We were in no hurry, as we have planned three nights halt in Jim Corbett National park. We have booked two safari trips plus the need to rest and rejuvenate.

We saw many mango gardens and sugarcane fields on the way. Apart from this wheat, paddy and several vegetables seems to be the main crop in the region.

We passed through several quaint villages where we had few “chai” and samosa stops. Interacted with locals and enjoyed every moment.

We passed through Rampur about 80 kms before Jim Corbett park, apparently a town with rich heritage. Several buildings have Mughal type architecture. We had not planned a stopover in this town and hence viewed these monuments from our car.

We reached our destination Jim Corbett at 7.00 pm and checked in at Club Mahindra. The property is located on the banks of Kosi river and our cottage is overlooking this magnificent river. Reflection of the moon on the water was enchanting and we look forward to exciting couple of days.

Stay with us for more updates…

At end of day thirteen - 5205 kms on our tracker.
